This is an excellent company with and excellent product that offers excellent service. We had been looking for some time for appropriate heat sinks for a prototype. When we found heatsinkusa we couldn't believe the cost effective product offering combined with the selection. They custom cut them and shipped them promptly. Quality is amazing. Just wish they were Black anodized !! We will be back.
The center is about .010" below the plane of the edges, which means there is a gap in the center if bolting on the outside edges only.

Placed an order for a custom length cut to order and was very pleased when it arrived! Very well packaged and was exactly what we ordered. Extrusion has exceptional density and machines perfectly.
Accuracy of cuts, and overall quality is good. Thermal performance is good. We are dissipating 250 watts with moderate forced air, and the devices stay around 40°C. WIth natural convection only, the devices get up around 85°C. My only complaint is that the alloy is a bit sticky, making tapping 6-32 holes a bit challenging...but manageable. If possible, use a spiral point tap or possibly better, a spiral flute tap. Make sure to use plenty of cutting oil and break the chip frequently.
